Spots and targets
Know where to start looking
Say where you're diving and what you're after. Aspetto reads the seabed and suggests ground that suits it: a reef edge for lobster, a sand flat for scallops, rough ground for bass.

Ground that suits your target
Choose from 13 targets:
- Shellfish: lobster, edible crab, spider crab, king scallop.
- Fish: bass, pollack, ballan wrasse, grey mullet, black bream.
- Flatfish and cuttlefish: plaice, turbot, brill, cuttlefish.
Aspetto looks for the kinds of ground each one likes (reef edges, gullies, pinnacles, rough ground, sand flats) within the depth range it prefers, and tells you why it picked each one: "The ground drops about 5 m here. Hunt along the lip and look down the face."
Suggestions only use measured survey data, never the inshore estimate.
Your spots
Search areas, not just pins
Save a suggestion and it becomes a search area sized to the ground: 40 m round a gully, 120 m across a sand flat. Spot cards show the depth, what you're looking for, the bottom type and any sewage warning nearby.
Mark a spot from the watch with one press of the Action button while you're in the water, and it's on your phone when you get out.

The guide
Season, ground and the rules
Each target has a short guide: when it's in season, the ground and depth it favours, how to look for it, and the minimum sizes and limits from Cornwall IFCA's recreational rules, with a link to check them.
